I would much rather see the murders caught then seeing a drug bust for marijuana.

I think for harder drugs they should provide more help for possession then incarceration. These people are addicted--not criminals.

For the dealers I believe in incarceration, counseling, education, and rehab for these people. They should know about the lives they have ruined--by dealing to a child who OD and died. They should deal with the consequences of their actions.

I feel the system is not working well. To many times do these addicts and dealers get out to do the same things again.

Define "drug crime." Do you mean bringing it into the country? If we had real freedom, then we would own our own bodies, and be able to use what we want, thus drugs wouldn't be illegal. Do you mean murders due to turf wars? Organized criminal gangs cannot exist on legal activities; otherwise they are called bar associations or fraternities. Government takes tax money and tells citizens that problems with "drug criminals" are taken care of, severely limiting the availability of money for legitimate charities who might be able to rehab bottomed-out addicts. If drugs were legal, they would be cheaper, thus theft would drop. How many people do you know who burglarize houses to get cigarette money? I can't think of any other crime you might be talking about, so I hope I answered your question.

The war on drugs was lost a long time ago, all there is is a few die hards keeping up a rearguard action and making a lot of noise about "winning" It is failing and will always do so. Legalise the lot, society will be a lot better off.

Re-legalize drugs. Making it a crime is what contributes to all the violence.

Inject all those who supply drugs with their own poison. Usually drug dealers dont do drugs, let them feel what those they supply drugs for feel. I think drug addicts get more than enough help and then abuse it .

In countries that deal with drug crimes harshly, there just isn't much drug crime to deal with. I hope that says it all.
