Look at the ArcaMax - Planet CD-ROM web site, for several examples of inexpensive computer generated pianos. There are several programs on the market, but ArcaMax keeps sending me stuff because I was a piano teacher.

I got a midi program with my Soundblaster sound card that has a computer-generated piano.
