Why is it that in a lot of plays, the best roles are always for older people?

thats not necessarily true. it depends on the play. and yeas, probably because they are more experienced and that energy is needed for the other actors to work. it also depends on what ur opinion on what the "best role" is.

For the same reason that most of Shakespeares roles are for men, and traditionally white older men. You might notice that Shakespeareas heros get older the later the writing date of the play.

There are, however, all sorts of good plays with roles for younger people. What age where you looking for.
