no site is ever safe when you do stupid things like give out your personal information or trust your friends not to do the same.
i give out mine all the time. but i'm an old man and no one wants to rape me :)

Coming from personal internet saftey, i'd say its safe. I have a myspace and it's very stable and controlled. if you add people you know, and dont give out personal info, you'll be fine. If your still freaked because of the reports rememeber that most of those girls you see aren't okay. Most are slutty drug addicts. Ive had and account for almost a year and iv'e found NO threat in having it. Hope this helps.
