Yeah i can think of some bands that have one was actually inspired by Pink Floyd.

The Cure. Listen to Disintegration the cd they released in 1989. Robert Smith wrote it while having concerns over his new marriage to longtime sweetheart Mary Poole. Lots of emotion on that one and some people including South Park co-creator Matt Stone consider it the greatest album ever.

I'd say Enigma, Tool, Loreena McKennitt to name a few.

Favorite Pink Floyd song???

That's perhaps the hardest question i've been asked.

Run Like Hell, Goodbye Blue Sky, Time, Wish You Were Here, Sorrow,On The Turning Away, Empty Spaces, Young Lust probably Nobody Home and Vera.

Vera reminds me of a girl that used to have a crush on me and i felt she was just too angelic to pursue her name was oddly enough Vera and the song kind of fit her.

I think most musicians put emotion in their music (please notice I put musicians). Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, David Gilmour, B.B. King, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Janis Joplin, etc.etc. Different emotions produces different material...

With Pink Floyd though or better yet Roger Waters, it was always easy to figure out what emotion he was trying to convey...that maybe why it is hard to associate other bands to their genius.

As for my favorite song, I love them all, but the song that puts me in a good mood is Welcome to the Machine.

Keane.
I can't explain it really. But I when I listen to it, I lose myself in their lyrics.
Evanescence is brilliant too, so is Linkin Park. And Dire Straits, as well as Fleetwood Mac, but perhaps way out of your listening taste.
