As far as I know it wouldn't, although I'm not sure. My understanding of this is that women with eating disorders effectively turn off the part of their pituitary gland that excretes estrogen, which in turn causes a woman to ovulate. I don't see why everything wouldn't go back to normal once she started eating again, as the estrogen would come back at that point. But I'm not a doctor. If there's someone in the family with an eating disorder who's trying to concieve, is it really a good idea for her to be a parent just yet, anyway?

It all depends. If the disease is handled, then the possibility is there that she may get everything back to normal. It just all depends on how bad the disease got, how long it has been going on and if they are taking care of themselves now. Sometimes it can damage your body to the point that pregnancy would either not happen, or would cause problems for the mother. This situation needs to be handled by a doctor that is aware of the situation and can handle it as a high-risk pregnancy.
