It would be a good trade cause Texas needs pitching. However, Teixera is one of the Rangers better offensive weapons.

There isn't a snowballs chance in hell of the Tigers trading Bonderman for anyone.

Teixeira is over priced and I think he'd struggle in Comerica Park. While it's true that the Tigers may not resign Sean Casey, they're going to need a serious power hitter to replace him. The 11th is coming up soon, so I guess we'll see what happens then.

Personally, I'd like to see Casey stay, but I'll admit that may not be a possibility.

That's an interesting question. First of all, Teixeira for Bonderman would be a huge deal for the Tigers and if that offer was ever accepted by the Rangers, then the Tigers should be more than happy to go through with it. The real question is will Texas be able to afford Teixeira after his contract expires in 2007. If they can't, then the Rangers would be better off getting someone for him, like Bonderman, rather than let him walk in free agency.

As far as I can tell, the Rangers should be able to sign him to a big contract and keep him in Texas after 2007. (Assuming the Yankees don't out bid them.) In which case, the Tigers would have to offer alot more than just Bonderman (perhaps Verlander or Zumaya) to get an elite hitter like Teixeira. So my answer would be no, I don't see this deal happening. Texas is not a small market team and they can and will shell out the big bucks to keep their star hitter in Texas.

Yes offense is good. Plus the Tigers got a whole stable of pitchers in the minors to replace Bonderman with.

As a Chicago fan, I'd love to see Bonderman traded somewhere outside of the American League Central. That said, the Tigers are fools if they give up such a talented pitcher. Pitching wins championships, and Detroit plays in a pitcher's ballpark. A lot of the home runs Teixeira hits in Texas are fly-ball outs at Comerica Park.

If I were Texas, I'd do that deal in a nanosecond.

If I were GM for the Tigers, I'd go for that trade. Teixeira would solve a problem and stabilize the middle of the lineup. I'd place Guillen on the third spot and Magglio on the fifth. But you have to give away something, and Bonderman would have to go. It's a fair trade that's good for both teams.

OMG! if you can get Texeira for Bonderman, i would do that deal. Gold Glover and 40hr-130rbi-.300 hitting 1b, for Bonderman who is GOOD, but terribly inconsistant... yes, i would do that deal if i were the Tigers.. because honestly, the Tigers have Pitching Depth, and im sure they have sum young gun in the minors who could fill a spot if they need it. Its not like theyld be giving up Verlander, THAT deal i wouldnt do, but Bonderman, yes. trade him.

The tigers DONT have enough good hitters, that was the problem.. everyone in their lineup can be made to chase balls.. Texeira is a legitimate Slugger, sit him in middle of that lineup and let the young hitters around him (Monroe, Graderson, Inge, etc) blossom. I like Bondrman, but to get Texeira STRAIGHT UP, nothing else going to texas, ild do it.

NO NO NO! Yes the Tigers do need offense, but not at the expense of a young, hard-throwing pitcher who is going to be a horse in the rotation. Teixera is a very talented player, a switch-hitter with power, but you don't trade him for a 24 year old pitcher. What has Texas won with him? He can hit, but he can't pitch.

The Detroit Pistons traded for Allen Iverson to launch cap area. With Billups long gone and Iverson's expiring settlement, the Pistons could have alot of loose cap area and money to spend. this way, they are able to p.c.. up lots of the great loose brokers this season and next summer in 2010. Billups grew to become into additionally transforming into to be very previous and Joe Dumars is attempting to construct up a youthful and robust Pistons group.
