I'm not sure how to set up securety settings for my linksys wireless. Can anyone describe how to do this?

Read the manual. It tells you how to set up your WEP encryption. Also, check the wireless networking forum on dslreports.com. They also have a Linksys specific forum.

First, dont post your IP address here on the internet.

To answer your question, this depends on your model. If you go to the Linksys website, they have a place to enter your model for the manual, as well as an FAQ section that describes in full detail how to lock down your wireless router.

Regarding an admin password of your router, a "strong" password is at least 8 characters, includes at least one number, one non-letter (!@#$%^&*), and a mix of UPPER and lower case letters like h$K22drHhk. Remember, people will use the dictionary to hack in. DONT use "password" as your password.

Do you know your IP address? If so, type it into the address bar. Then, it will give you options for your router. I'm sure the security settings will be somewhere in there.
