And how good a negotiator your agent is.

Not much- Usually they give you a salary at first-like a job, maybe 300-500 a week. Then , you get a percentage of each unit sold, usually .25 or .50 cents. It takes years to make money unless you go gold or platinum right away, but that is a one in a hundred chance!
