Oh yeah, Bush was humiliated. Him and his Republican buddies were defeated bigtime when the Democrats won most of the elections. The issue that really affected this race was the War In Iraq. If Bush hadn't entered that war, then the race would have had a differen t outcome. There are no other issues that come to my mind that affected the race besides the war.

No. I'll let you in on a secret my UK friend. The Majority of Americans support the war we just don't like the direction it's headed in now.. We loved how it started off. But after awhile the plan hit a brick wall. We American don't like unfinished business. We kind of hit a Stale Mate. I think this is why you saw a lot of Democrats take over the House of Representative, but not the Senate in recent elections.

I agree we need a new plan for Iraq. We are at a turning point now. Our Secretary of Defense even realized we need new input and that is why he stepped down. I actually think this will be Good for America, Bush, and the World. Just hope in 2008 that America does not get a Democrat President.

The answer would be no. To make this point, I would ask you if Blair is humiliated when he steps into Parliament and is heckled and interrupted. I think the answer from you would be no also.

American politics has always been rough and tumble during elections but, when it comes to most of our presidents, humility is not a real word. Partly because of the position and partly because all politician have an ego that is somewhere between mars and the moon.

I don't think humiliated. But certainly a message was sent by the voting public. One in which the Polls actually meant something. One in which a great many people voted.

But it is not only a message to Bush, but a message to the Republicans and the congress (both houses) in general.

That is-- we want a change, now do better.

No, I think he's relieved. Pelosi is the boss now and she wants most everything Bush wants.

Now it'll be up to the dems to babysit this war, since they now have the power.

Bush and Pelosi want open borders.

Bush and Pelosi want an amnesty.

Bush and Pelosi want millions more here via guest worker program.

Bush and Pelosi want a North America Union.

Bush and Pelosi are obsessed with the latino vote.

I watched his news conference at noon today. I thought he was anything but humiliated. He was very gracious in defeat and spoke for a good while about talking to the opposition about finding common ground on partisan issues to serve the electorate. He said this wasn't his 1st rodeo and refered to the defeat as a "thumpin". I thought he was in good spirits and ready to face the challenges ahead.

The Republicans and their agenda(?) have been humiliated.

Bush has not been humiliated because, to be humiliated, one needs to be made humble. He is far too egotistical and narcissistic for that.

That's because you do not understand the American political system. In my own opinion, I could care less what the British press thinks, or any of Europe for that matter. You and your press should be more worried about the noose you are slowly tightening around your own necks - your lack of response to the Radical Islamo-Fascists running wild all over Europe.
