The United States produces and uses a third of the world's paper. Forests in the southeastern U.S. now supply a quarter of the global supply of paper. The average U.S. citizen uses more than 650 pounds of paper annually. People in developing countries, in contrast, use only 40 pounds of paper a year on average—in India, the figure is nine pounds, while in 20 countries in Africa, it's less than one pound.

Not as much as you would think, it is my understanding that the students bring their own paper and as for art supplies the schools have a limited supply.
Wouldn't it be great if 1 or of 10 families ate one less part of Thanksgiving meal and donated the money to the school of their choice for the art classes to buy supplies?
