Direct Variation?

ok please help me on my HW! please i dont understand how to do it. please dont just give me the answer if y varies as x, and y=2 when x=.25, find the constant of variation and write an eqaution of direct variation.

We know that y varies directly with x, so as x increases, so does y.

We also know that y = 2 when x = 0.25, so y is 8 times as big as x...

so...

y = 8 * x
y = 8x

(if you don't understand how I got the 8, simply divide y by x, or 2 / .25 = 8)
