The new song, actually a Fergie song, "Fergilicious" is total copy of JJ Fad's Supersonic(I havent checked the credits so Im not sure if they credit it as a cover song). I hate these groups nowadays becoming famous and rich from others' creativity and hard work, I mean, Ive heard covers which are very different from the original, even ones which develop the song more than the original(like Stevie Ray Vaughan taking some riffs from Jimi Hendrix's "Little WIng" and developing a longer song) but STILL CREDITING the original author for the song and keeping the original name of the song.
But the Black eyed peas especially just use other famous musical motifs and add new lyrics or other beats in many of their hits. Cant they do something original? or simply be called a cover band, but not an original artist!?!?!?!?

she has no talent and is in love w/ herself. A 5 year old could put together a better song than fergilicious. that word doesn't even mean anything and she still makes money off of it. this is why i never listen to the radio or watch mtv. very good call about the jjfad ripoff.

I agree with you up to a point. In movies and music, I feel it is okay to pay homage or steal-however you want to phrase it-as long as you do something that is at least equal or better than the original. In Fergies case-and the Black Eyed Pea's-her first breakout hit, "My Humps," was a cover of an older song titled, "I need a Freak." I feel this song was at least equal to the original if not better-in terms of production and overall impact. But one can never say for certian if a cover can be better than the original. That being said it takes talent to have longevity in popular music and Fergie and Black Eyed Peas definately have talent. Vanila Ice didn't last because of a lack of talent-even though his success was huge-perhaps bigger than the Black Eyed Peas-at the time.

nicely in case you extremely "have not heard a everyday device... because the overdue ninety's", it really is your human being damn fault. there is a good number of bands/musicians/artists/performers/etc accessible. flow locate song you want and close the hell up. to boot, pop song has continually been finished of untalented, pre-packaged performers. it really is why that is said as the song market. have you ever heard of Motown? did you recognize something about how that position replaced into run? they could grab any random bum off the line, he might want to stroll interior the front door, and characteristic powerful list by the time he walked out the decrease back, and that is not an exaggeration. they'd that stuff all the way down to a finite technology, and it were given rather repetitive! the ingredient is, no human being recollects all the crappy mass-marketplace product acts because there replaced into not something unique or interesting about them. they have continually been there, they'll proceed to be there, and also you purely ought to settle for it. skills doesn't equivalent popularity. each and every musician is familiar with that. If it did, Dave Martone might want to be the most in call for guy on the earth, no human being might want to have ever heard of Fred Durst, and Charlie Parker does not have died penniless. stop whining.
