As you can tell from the responses here, it is really a personal choice. Some answers feel strongly NO and some strongly YES. It comes down to you and your comfort level. For me personally i wouldn't ask or take part, my best buddy and his wife are darn near swingers. I would guess 80% of guys think of it and would love it but only 20% could actually get the nerve to walk the talk and 5% actually go through with it.

Getting her to agree to it isn't the important thing but if you have a relationship strong enough that allows you to calmly discuss those things then you are several jumps ahead of most. You must realize that she will also have fantasies though and be open to at least listening to them. Even if you don't follow through on either (and you probably won't) your sex life will get a jump start. If either of you are insecure with your relationship this ability to talk openly and honestly may not work for you.

I wouldn't even think of asking my wife that. I don't need to add another person to the bed.
I respect my wife enough that I know she's enough for me. Like someone else said, I didn't marry a threesome.
I love and respect my wife, and wouldn't do anything to make her uncomfortable.
And even thinking about doing that can cause big problems in a marriage, because it makes a wife feel inferior, and that her husband isn't interested in.

Lots of guys daydream about being with 2 women at once - but let's face it most of them are 2-pump chumps and can't even satisfy one woman. They just like the idea of 2 women because since most women only have sex when they want to, 2 of them doing it must mean - wow they really want to have sex with each other plus i might get some.
But most guys know wifey won't be going for that and it makes her feel of less value like, what - i as your wife can't make you happy? That can't be a great feeling.

no man should ever ask his wife to have a 3some! If your husband has asked you tell him you want a supper hung guy in your 3some and see what he says.

It's worth a shot. (it worked for me)
