I don't know what is wrong with me. All the time I had been an A student until I transferred to 4 yr university.

I don't get how a lot of people seem to be doing much better than I. My grades are not that good anymore =(. I'm a Computer Science Major.

What is the problem?
A) People just get more responsible in College (that's why they are doing so good)

B) The responsible people are the ones that go to college (that's why my competition seems to be stronger)

C) I'm losing responsability since in College it is basically up to the student to do the work and so on. I was just a kid who did what was told, but now in College facing challenge of responsability

D) My major is tougher than most of the others majors in the University.

E) I'm in a nerdy school. (Its one of the highest SAT and GPA in my state)

F) I'm lacking motivation, perhaps my expectations killing me. Should go to counselor.

G) College is like that, it is uneven. Some people have + job exp.

?????

Eh i think it is a combination of things.
yes number one is you have to be your own boss and stay motivated to go to class. Realize that nobody is gonna give you detention for not going to class and alot of people just can't deal with it.. they skip class and all that jazz. Really what I think the key to college is not having distractions. Don't sit home and play video games.... THROW EM OUT! Get involved in campus activities and find some friends to help motivate you. And by friends i don't mean drinkin buddies that keep you up late at night.
Also some people just are in bad situations. For example my sophmore year i moved out of the dorms and walked pretty far to campus every day. When it got cold out all i wanted to do was skip class and be warm in my house. Make decisions that makes it easy for you to get to class and do well in class. Also get into a very good routine every sememster where your always doing your homework and do not stray from that routine.

I can't tell from what you say what's going on for sure. You must realize, first of all, that college isn't supposed to be easy. Also, do you like the major you have chosen? You might be in the wrong field. Perhaps, if you switched majors, you would have an easier time of it. How much time a week do you study? And, more important, how do you study? Perhaps your study methods are poor. Did you get away with bad study techniques in high school that just don't cut it now that you're in college? Do you get tasks done on time, or are you always doing things at the last minute (that's no good!) Try taking notes of what you read. Everything you need to know for a course should be in a notebook. Writing helps the learning process. Finally, the fact that you are in a prestigious school might be a factor, especially if the grades you receive are curved against the results of the other members of your class. Maybe you should be going to a different college?
