ok listen if u have a compound formed by 2 atoms u take the electronegativity of the second atom and u substract the electronegativity of the first one if the number that u get is between 0 and 0.3 its non polar covalent if its 0.4-1.7 then its polar covalent and if its 1.7 or more than it is ionic

ionic components have severe hardness, severe melting factors, mostly soluble in H2O, maximum crystals are ionic, ionic innovations habit electricity, organic ionic beverages do no longer, however the least complicated thank you to tell is they are made out of a metallic ion and a nonmetal ion.* *This excludes any polyatomic ions or complicated molecules

Ionic compounds have what is known as lattice energy, which means that they are built in geometric squares as they bond. They can dissolve in water, and conduct electricity. They have a high melting point and are very brittle.

Best of luck to you, dearest.

Ionic compounds are solid, crystals with high melting point. When solid they don't conduct the electric current, but when melt or when dissolved in water - when they are in liquid phase - they are good conductors of the electric current.
