You all know what I mean. When You go out to eat at a Mexican Resturant why do they bring out the food on a steaming hot plate? Every other type of resturant usually it's just the food that's hot.

To keep the cheese at the right consistency! No one likes their cheese to harden up before they get it into their mouth! :o)

Is the cheese on your beans melted and almost bubbly? The reason the plate is hot is b/c the cook puts the beans on the plate, then sprinkles the cheese on it and puts it into an oven to melt the cheese. The plate ends up very hot, which in turn keeps your food nice and warm. Pretty neat, huh?

The plates are kept warm, because things like rice and beans cool quickly especially when you put lettuce and tomato into the picture. I have an Italian restaurant and we warm our bowls so, the pasta stays really hot! Also many dishes are put under cheese melters. These units cook at 550 degrees, it melts cheese better that way.

Well, sometimes when I'm in restaurants the plate will come hot because the food is so hot... maybe that's the case.
