What are you using the bike for? Racing? Trails? Dunes? The CR and RM are pretty closely matched if you are talking about the brand new models. All the major 4 are pretty evenly matched. It's more a matter of brand loyalty or cosmetics unless you are a hard core racer that can tell the slight differences in the powerbands.

Personally, I like 4 strokes because of the lower maintenance, higher reliability, and the fact that most 2-strokes are outlawed in the state forests around here. Not to mention, I like the sound of a powerful thumper better than a whiny 2-stroke.

No matter what - good luck and be careful.

I ride an 01 RM 125 and love it. But a CR 125 and and RM 125 are very close in power, weight, and performance. Its more of a personal prefrance, although Hondas are known for lasting forever, all bikes will still need a top end rebuild eventually and some basic maitnence. Its a personal thing, but Id say, RM 125 cause Yellow is a Sick Color

stay with the 2 stroke the rm preferreablely. honda are smoother better for slick tracks and a rider that preferes that type bike. the rm has a more explosive powerband and winds out more and will flat out fly, quite different bikes. as for the power delivery but other than that really close.
