It is in fact true. Being a native of Las Vegas and fellow heiress of hotels, I have experienced the $6000 Carls Jr meal, served exclusively at The Palms. It is listed on the room service menu in your hotel room and comes with fries and truly, a $6000 bottle of 24-year old french bordeaux. Of course, the actual bottle of wine is not nearly as worth $6000. In a specialty wine store or directly from the vineyard, the bottle of wine is approx. $1000-2000. Because it is a large tourist city, everything is marked up in price.

The first one explains that the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas is now offering on its room service and coffee shop menus, a hamburger that sells for $6,000. That's right: Six grand. So you may be wondering how this burger is different from, say, the six dollar burger at Carl's Jr? Answer: It isn't different at all. It's a Carl's Jr six dollar burger with a big markup. If you order one — and I know you...you're probably booking your flight to Sin City this very moment, drooling at the chance to pay $6000 for a six dollar burger — they send someone to a nearby Carl's Jr to pick one up and then they serve it to you with a complimentary bottle of 24 year-old French Bordeaux.

It was a parody commercial with the Malouff brothers who own The Palm and reportedly like Carl's Jr a lot. In the commercial they were having their burgers with a $6,000 bottle of wine.

Ha! That's what I thought at first too but then I saw the commercial many times. The meal is $6000 because of the old bottle of wine which probably cost $5994 and the hamburger meal $6 which equals $6000
