This is a subjective question.
The other day I saw my friend's 1958 Speedster - just back from the restorer - it was great. And to him the answer most likely would be his speedster.
However, his neighbor has a 1959 Roadster - wow, knock your socks off...
My husband loved his 1998 993 wide body Carrera S -- almost as much as I loved our 1979 911SC.
We have a Boxster that handles great - it has a sports suspension in it - and it does make a difference...
I guess the answer then it is what ever model you have fallen in love with - love how it handles - and just have a good time with it wherever you go.
Models that I don't consider that great were (IMHO)
The original 914 (first 2 years of VW production) -- but what was great was the 914/6
I wouldn't want a 924 (Audi) -- though another neighbor has her original, drove it off the show room floor -- and loves it. She can't beat the gas mileage and she takes good care of it, so it very rarely needs maintenance repairs...
A 944. (This is personal - I just don't care for it or the 968) but...if you are looking for a car for track only -- what a honey.
A 928. We owned one. Hated it. 6 months later we were back in a a 930. We called it the boat - it went side to side all over the lane when we drove it.
Any prototype. Though they are great if you are extremely wealthy and want to show them off - what nightmares to maintain.
But even these cars all have people who treasure them...
Hope that helps.

Porsche 959.
The fastest car in the world at 197mph, until the advent of the Jag XJ220. Despite claims of 202 mph for the Ferrari F40, it only ever reached 195 in independant tests, so the 959 was officially faster.
Gorgeous to look at as well.
The new 997 GT3RS is also a great car, especially in black with orange wheels.

Porsche 959. A techonological masterpiece, and still one of the fastest cars on the planet, despite being over 15 years old.

In my opinion the 356B Spyder was the sexiest and best Porsche to ever hit the road. A timeless classic.

i would have to say the 2006 911 turbo. the new turbo system takes almost all of the lag and makes it a distant memory. go to www.porsche.com and look around for the sounds section. they have a great recording of a 911 turbo accelerating away. the loudest sound coming from the car is the wonderful vacuum cleaner that are the turbo. i swear, it sounds like the turbos are sucking anough air to make the driver asphixiate! *c'mon powerball*

The VW Beetle. Ferdinand Porsche designed it for Hitler, and it's sold millions worldwide. Indeed, it was only a few years ago they stopped making new ones in Brazil.
Look at the 911, it's a fast, stretched beetle!

I LIKE THE 97 TWIN TURBO, BUT IF YOU WANT THE ABSOLUTE BEST PORSCHE ITS THE 959, BUT GOOD LUCK BUYING ONE SINCE THEY WERE NEVER SOLD IN THE US, UNTIL RECENTLY, A COMPANY OUT OF CALIFORNIA IS IMPORTING THEM AND MAKING THEM US ROAD LEGAL, BUT ITS ABOUT 15 YEARS OLD AND WILL RUN YOU ABOUT A MILLION AND A HALF!!, BUT IT WILL BLOW THE GT AWAY ON TRACK OR IN A STRAIGHT LINE
