I've got a saturn SC1-2001. i had the motor replaced once while it was under warranty. i've read countless posts about leaky sunroofs but mine has never leaked. i think the motor just wore out when it was in the up position. it is only about 3 or 4 mm from being closed. Is it safe for me to get on the car and try to manually press the roof down? I don't care about getting it fixed. I just care about getting it closed. I'm a single female so Ican't just pass this problem off to a man. Please help me!

LOOK FOR DEBRIS IN ALL OF THE TRACKS FIRST
MAKE SURE ALL IS CLEAN
THE ROOF IS OPERATED BY A NYLON CABLE THAT OFTEN WEARS OUT
IF YOU HEAR THE MOTOR RUNNING BUT IT IS NOT CLOSING IT MAY HAVE STRIPPED OUT THE TEETH ON THE CABLE
IF SO I WOULD RECOMMEND HAVING SOMEONE PRESS THE CLOSE SWITCH AT THE SAME TIME AS YOU GENTLY PUSH DOWN ON THE WINDOW
GOOD LUCK

Safety isn't the issue, the roof will support you unless you are in excess of 250. You can try pushing it down slowly with a board or plank to even the pressure. However you may not be successful if the cable is jammed. Worst case just take a piece of duct tape and seal it shut until you can get it fixed.

Don't push down on it because you will brake the glass. It could be a bad switch or the wires going to the motor could have a bad connection. you can test out the switch by pressing hard on it but not to hard as to brake it. if this makes the sunroof move a little than the switch is bad. also look at your fuse panel their should be a fuse for the sunroof circuit that could have gone bad.
