yep, but why do they have to complicate even simple things? why paragraphs and paragraphs, when things could be said in a single sentence.

One professor told me, that it was a business, so they make them thicker and thicker so that they cost more.

That's also why teachers change books almost every semester.

Because in college you must learn from the book more than you learn from your professor. Do yourself a favor and read everything you can in the book. Most profs don't assign readings in the books they just take it for granted that you keep up to date yourself. Leaving your books behind and trying to learn from class is a mistake alot of college students make. Many of them just can't pick up things from books and these are the college students that generally do poorly in class.
