I realize we have the young team that is suprising everyone in Pittsburgh, but we aren't carrying the league or even winning our division at the moment. Yeah we help bring attention because they are young and exciting and they are the future of the league but if they are carrying it beyond the NHL trying to use them to promote itself then the NHL is in trouble. Oh and the Sabres aren't carrying the league either. Most people find their fans more annoying then anything. Oh we will get 82-0 and then they lose so it's ok we will go 81-0-1. Get a grip. People talking like that get people to LOSE intrest in hockey not gain it. The NHL is mostly carrying itself simply by keeping the fans it had before. Oh and the Penguins weren't getting ready to fold and move two years ago. They weren't competitive but that was because they could only use the money they had. So they had sold off the best players as they just couldn't afford them.

Whoa there, Sabres fan. Yunz (that's Pittsburghese for the plural of "you") guys and us Penguins fans better not forget that our guys have a ways to go before they can "carry the league." Someone--I think it was either Plato, Einstein, or Bill Clement--said "Hockey season is a marathon, not a sprint," we'll have to see how our respective seasons pan out. But, gee whiz, ain't it fun so far? (Aside to Ed Snyder: it's about time you axed that overrated, cement-headed stiff of a GM you got...now perhaps your new GM won't find it necessary to have a bunch of hulking, oafish goons on defense...oh, and by the way GO HOME FLYERS!!!! Boy, did that feel good.) See ya in the playoff Sabres fan.

By game 82, well see how good this team really is. They have fallen down in the last 2 weeks unlike anahiem whom seems to be a wrecking ball machine.
Pittsburgh carrying the league? Last year they were next to last place. 2 years ago they were about to fold and go to Canada.. They arnt carrying anything except plane tickets to Hamilton if they dont come up with a new arena plan..
