I broke my origanal DS this past summer. Since then, I was debating with myself wether to get the same one or a lite. I decided to get the pink lite. I've done research online and I found out that the left hinge crakes easily. So that was a let down. Also, I'm so afraid of getting scratches on it. With my old DS I use my home made screen protectors made from clear plastic (they work really well!) and a skin. Now, I'll getting a silicon case and using my screen protectors. The only problem is, everyone makes fun of me because of all the procectors!!! Is it becasue I'm agirl? I'm not sure if I really want a DS lite because of the left hige craking! What should I do!!! Am I overly protective and worried about my DS?

Hello "Sweet Sabrina",

No, I don't think your going to far. Once your using suits or something to protect your DS then your going to far. I would go for it and not worry about the embarrassment. As long as your happy with it and enjoy your gaming why let friends stop that? Anyways, hope this answers your question and good luck with your new DS if you get one. I know what you mean!!!! I have one two and Im looking into the cases and the skins and the screen protectors lol. I just want mine to last and to keep clean. No your not being overprotective over your DS, you never know if your going to accidently drop it so rather be safe than sorry.
