in a map of world mountain regions and a map of the world population region.....describe and explain the pattern you discover?

ie. there are not many people living were mountains are.......

Well, you will find that in general, altitude and population are inversely proportional. You will also discover heavy population densities where there is a sudden drop in altitude such as at the base of mountains.

Mountainous terrains tend not to be arable. People can't farm = less settled. Also, mountainous areas are irregular, barring the establishment of cities and whatnot, since buildings need flat land, especially manufacturing complexes and the like.
