I will be happy to have the Iraq war stopped so we can stop paying for someone else's security and worry about our security and schools, etc.

I know you probably don't want to hear this but remember, the Democrats have to pay down the deficit the Republican administration has ran up. When Bill Clinton left the White House we had a budget surplus (LONG GONE starting when George Bush and Republican House and Senate took over). Now the Democrats may have to raise taxes to bail this country out of debt. Then the Republicans in 2008 will say look at what the Democrats did "they raised your taxes", and unthinking Americans will vote the republicans back and we start all over again. Sounds like de-ja-vu doesnt it?

Do high taxes make you happy? If so, then I guess when the democrats raise taxes then you'll be a happy person. As for me, raising taxes makes me unhappy.

i hate when you never differentiate as to whose taxes.the only taxes republicans lower usually apply to only the richest 5 or 10 %. us middle classers are getting squeezed.sorry ,but yes,i do think the rich should pay a fair share. examples : in '90 the top fed tax rate was70% for Mr. millionaire.now the top rare is 36% .that's almost 50% cut in Mr. millionaire's fed taxes.i have only seen mine go up.;why do they stop taking s.s. tax after you make over 80k?i pay a %, Mr. millionaire should pay same %

which taxes specifically are you against?
1 the taxes that pay for our military in Iraq
2. the taxes that are supposed to be funding the "no child left behind" initiative
3. the taxes that should be paying for increased security on our ports, and water,and food supplies
4. the taxes that will provide medical care for troops returning from doing their patriotic duty overseas
