Don't you need to be voted to be the speaker of the house? Why are people so adamantly sure that she'll be the next "madam" speaker? I don't mean to be this detractor and ill-repute Nancy Pelosi, but I just don't understand why people are presuming. any comments??

As for Iraq, Pelosi and the Democrats have yet to explicitly outline their plan for U.S. involvement in the region, but unlike many of her counterparts, Pelosi voted against authorizing the war.
And what about the persnickety allegation that she will skipper tax hikes through the House? Sure she will, said the shoo-in speaker.
"We will revisit the tax cuts at the high end in order to give tax cuts to the middle class, (We will redistribute the wealth.)
" she said.

She'll get Speaker of the House becouse her party is now the majority party. The same will go to Harry Ried who will now be voted by his peers to majority leader of the senate. That's how the parties both Republican and Democrat have traditionally operated within the congress. Now Pelosi will be voted on by those who are now elected in.

I believe she was elected by her democratic peers, and that is what got her the Speaker position.
Ms. Pelosi now holds one of the most powerful seats in U.S. Government (she is 3rd in line for President!)
Hmmm... it only took 100 years for a WOMAN to get to the "top 3" on the U.S. Government food chain...I wonder if it will take another 100 years for a woman to become #1.

She's a freak.
