Because you have different, less tolerant views.

Not everyone holds the same beliefs as you, which I guess is something you learn with life experience. Democrats respect other people's morals and views much more than Repulicans. A lot of democrats might not support these things either, but they can respect the decisions of others in their own life.

It's not really correct to call stemcells or fertilized eggs babies either. People who support stem cell and are pro choice believe life doesn't begin until the baby is born.

Wow - I guess you can tell by the majority of the answers here that Yahoo! Answers is a pretty liberal place! Not ALL democrats believe in those things. Some do - however.

Please understand that babies are not killed FOR stem cell research.

Also - abortion (not obortion) is legal in our country. And even the Bible (which I am guessing you think is the final word on everything) says to "live by the law of the land"

And guess what! The new Speaker of the House is a WOMAN and a DEMOCRAT!

stem cell research doesn't kill "babies". It kills a microscopic clump consisting of 6 cells. Under current law, frozen embryos can be simply thrown away. If the parents, instead, wish to use the cells to advance medical research and help cure diseases that effect millions, than more power to them.

Oh, an incidentally, if these frozen embryos were instead used for in vitro fertiliazation, many of them would die regardless. Doctors typically use 2 to 4 embryos in each procedure, in the hopes that 1 will take. This means that in vitro fertilization is designed to kill 1, 2 or 3 embryos in the hopes that 1 will live. Hardly the "culture of life" religious zealots like to pretend they are embracing.

So, again, using the embryos to advance medical cures doesn't seem like such an awful result, does it?

Stem cells are not from aborted babies. This is a patently false statement used by the far right to lifers to justify a position which cannot be justified.

I say to everyone who is against stem cell research - your tune will change when you get Alzheimer's or other diseases which may have been cured through this type of research.

It is sad that at only 13 you are already so hateful against gays. Gay is NOT a choice - it is just what you are. (like being black or Asian - or female for that matter). Look at it this way: with all of the gay bashing and hatred towards gays, do you think someone would choose a gay lifestyle if they had a choice? I think not. It is sad that we can't just live and let live. If you are against abortion, don't have one. If you are against stem cell research, don't support it. It is that simple.

How would you like it if you were being discriminated against because of how you were born?

It's too bad you feel that way already. You have plenty of time to form and inform your own opinions and it's good that you're asking.

Here's one view on stem cells:

When human life begins is a matter of faith and belief. No one really knows, and many liberals do not believe that human life begins at the embryonic stage before the cells have even differentiated. Millions of stem cells can be made from each embryo, and embryos that would normally be thrown in the trash can be used. Where do would they come from? Fertility clinics have hundreds of thousands.

As for the politics - not all democrats support the legalization of gay marriage, federal funds for stem cell research or the right to an abortion, and not all republicians are opposed to all three.

Grant, you really struck a nerve here. I think you asked a good question based on what you know about the issues. Why so many that have answered are bashing you for it is because they think they know better than you because most of them made it clear that you are brainwashed and need more years under your belt. From downing your upbringing to calling you stupid the answers are in huh? What a crying shame.

I say, believe what you can how you can, till you learn different, if ever you do, never give up looking for the truth concerning the issues at hand.

i'm against abortion as a manner of removing distinctive undesirable pregnancies and that i'm in touch in the ban of partial start abortions of toddlers interior the 0.33 trimester, yet i'm in any different case professional-selection. So i'm wishy washy on it, and that i do no longer care. the flair banning of abortion is the between the least of our concerns in u . s . because of the fact we've the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the intense capability fees, the credit crunch and our pitiful economic equipment to shield first. So to that end, i'm happy that we are a professional selection usa because of the fact people who % to do it may with the consultation of a doctor and people who're against it may % to enable the youngsters come.

I am not so sure anyone is in favor of killing babies, except maybe George Bush with his illegal war in Iraq.

In terms of abortions, I highly recommend that you write to President Bush and ask him why he paid for his girlfriend's abortion back in the early 1970s.

As far as most, but not all, Democrats are concerned, abortion (or more properly termed as the right to choose to end a pregnancy), is a private matter decided upon by a woman and her physician. The US Supreme Court agreed with the Democrat position in 1973.

Stem cell research holds a lot of promise for incurable diseases such as Alzheimers, Parkinsons, Diabetes, Lupus, and others. There are literally millions of stem cells that are frozen and unused, and will ultimately be tossed as biowaste. Why do that? Why not use them to try and find a cure for diseases that are crippling tens of millions of Americans?

If you are against gay marriage, don't marry a gay person. Pretty simple isn't it?

uh.... the word is abortion... not obortion. And not all democrats are pro choice. Stem cell research is possibly a way to help people with parkinsons, alzheimers, spinal cord injuries. And as far as gay marriage goes, why should that even matter to you.. if that makes them happy, it is their life and not yours... and you don't have the right to tell anyone what they can do with their lives. If you are so full of hatred and are only 13, then I really feel sorry for you. Learn a little tolerance, you just might live a little longer.

And is it just me or is it totally ironic that turner_freak is calling people idiots. Please use your spell checker next time you want to insult people... might make you look less an idiot while you are calling other people idiots.

you're 13 that'll probably change as you get older...I am going to make an assumption that you are saying the same stuff you hear from your mom and/or dad and/or church right now. and that's fine to a point i mean if you allow them to teach you to be prejudice you'll more than likely teach it to your kids someday. As for stem cell research what you're not being told is these blastosis are not fetus yet and the ones to be used WILL NEVER be babies as they are slated to be thrown into the trash anyway, people are only saying instead of them being in the GARBAGE we should use them to help solve diseases it's research so we don't know exactly what the results will be but things are promising in many areas!
As to abortion it really is a PERSONAL decision that no one but the woman , her doctor, and her family should be involved in making, if you aren't one of those involved you really should do as my Grampa used to say MYOB.
