Try eBay.
In the navel jewellery category, search for pregnancy and you will find heaps of stuff. There you will find flexible plastic barbells that are usually about 50mm long and you can cut them to length as the balls are self threading.
You can buy these for about $5 - $10. They are brand new and sterile.
I bought 5 barbells for $6 from eBay when I was pregnant and wore one right up until baby was born without any problems. Never ripped out or left scarring.

If you take out your ring, your hole will stay!
I had to take mine out when I was 7 months pregnant, and I put it right back in after having the baby with no complications.....
Your belly button will stretch to far to keep one in anyways....

if you are pregnant then the doctors will tell you to take it out when you start getting bigger if not then that is just going to rip and make you have really ugly stretch marks. I took mine out and it has never healed up and it has been out for over a month now and my baby is due anytime but I just started showing.

Check at Walmart. And BTW...you only need to take it out if it becomes infected. I know several women that have worn their's their whole pregnancy, and only one that had to remove her's.
