Be sure you are prepared. Can you handle all possibilities? Remember it took you some time to decide to come out, so give others time to accept you as being out.

And do not be afraid to ask others who've been there for their advice (not neccessarily in public forum like this). Lots of people will offer non judgmental advice.

Good luck to you!

if your stilll at home, and your dad is stil there go too your mother and sit downe with her in private. tell her most of everything exce[pt the sex parts leave them out, tel her look mom i got something too tell you, iam gay. after that be prepared too leave home, most of the fathers cant take it it wil be a living hell, quiettly leave and move out hons. when you are on your own, go on with your life. you have made a good choice but fathers no. never discuss it with them.

don't sweat it too much. my daughter told me on the phone while she was on the way to the train station to pick up her girlfriend!! she wouldn't tell me to my face, and i felt a bit disappointed, but anyway, just stay cool about it, if anyone reacts strongly, or they seem to be a little shocked, just give them a while to digest it. those that truly care for you and love you will support and be happy for you in whatever decisions you make in life.

It never goes the way you anticipated in your mind.... Be strong enough to accept any reactions. They are merely reactions that will change once the shock wears off.

The only advice I can give you as a straight woman is: BE PATIENT and expect some pretty outrages comments, not necessarily negative, but strange. Shocks always illicit strange words in reaction .
