My baby had a bath tonight and i added bubbles for the first time. 10 seconds after i put him in he started screaming bad, the water was not to hot or cold and hes not scared of water. I used Johnsons calming bedtime bath, could he be scared of the bubbles? anyone else experienced this?

Hes 8 months old, i have used this before but it was when he was a small baby and it was in the baby bath so it did'nt produce many bubbles.

Possibly. Get some warm water out tomorrow and put some bubbles in it and let your baby play, fully clothed mind, sitting next to the bowl/bath, with his bath toys. Let him play with some soap suds when you've got the washing up water ready. Obviously supervise him as necessary (holding him if he is very small or just supporting if he is older). He may not like bubbles but playing with them will help him see that they are not harmful. If he does have a bit of nappy rash then the bubbles will make his bottom sting. Hope everything goes OK. And don't worry!

He might have an allergy to the foaming agent. When I was a baby, I could not take bubble baths of any kind.
Forget the bedtime bath and try rubbing some Vick's Baby Rub on him before bed (not the vapor rub, the BABY RUB).

When my daughter was a baby she had a fear of baths. I had to put floaties on her arms or should would scream, even if there was only a little water in the tub! She later told me as she got older that she was "A feared the bubbos would get her!" I guess some kids just don't like Bubbles!

One of my children was terrified of bubble gum bubbles. Every time someone would blow one, she would cry. However, I am guessing that some of the other posters are right that your son had a sensitivity to the something in the bubble bath that caused him to cry. A rash or an allergy would probably be the culprit.

Probably just a coincidence and he didn't fancy a bath. Either that or you overdid it with bubbles and he got scared when he couldn't see the lower part of his body under water because of bubbles.

omg i just had the same experience last week.....my son had a crazy bad cold so i decided to add the vapor bath which produces bubbles. i put him in the tub and he started screaming real loud.....at first i thought maybe it was to hot but i have a temperature thingy in there w/him so i know it was ok.......it is soo funny because we have used the vapor bath (of course when he was younger) i think it is just something new so it frightens him

my baby had a fear of water. and this dint go until he was two and a half! and he was born in water!! you dont say how old he is, but sometimes they just decide they dont like baths, even if previously they did before. only way to find out if its the bubbles is to give two baths, one with. one without, either way, he'll grow out of it eventually

they are gas bubbles. you need to have sex in order to get pregnant. besides you don't start feeling movement until a minimum of 15 weeks, but normally around 21 weeks if it's your first.

Was his bottom red/chapped/diaper rash? The bedtime bath has menthol in it and it might have burned him a little bit.
