Truly, it's difficult to compare ...
I love IM for their melodic music and more intelligent and thought-provoking lyrics.
Metallica's creaming vocal and fast rhythm do not impress me.

Iron Maiden came first, but both are fantastic. At least the classic Metallica anyway, not the newer stuff.
You couldn't have asked a tougher question for me. The answer here would be dependent on my mood. Yesterday I would have picked Metallica, but today I'm going with Iron Maiden. Who knows which side of this coin I'll be on tomorrow.....whoa.
