for example, i have watched some films that were rated 15 when really they should be 18 and 18 rated ones, which should be 15. does certain age classifications on certain movies, reflect the true content of the film itself? in your view, do you think the films, which are rated 18 by the british board of film classification, are rated correctly by them or not? is there so much sex, violence and swearing in most of them and which ones warrant a much high or lower rating? and what are your views on the BBFC in regards to the rating system they use for films, U, PG, 12A, 15 18?

In the 80s and 90s, they could get away with a lot more in films then they can now, for example, trainspotting, i mean, i understand its an 18 but my cousin is fourteen years old, and is doing it for media studies!
Parents do not care as much these days what there children watch, and to be honest, you dont get much difference between an U , and PG and a 12a, rarely you will get a 15 which could pass for a 12a.
the only reasons people add a 12a onto something is because of like, one swear word, its pathetic really.
there was more sex in the 80s, and you could get a 15 where you could see full sexual intercourse, so i suppose the stupids fags up in the goverment and all the do-gooders thought that people in the 21st century couldnt handle that.
idiots.

No I don't think they are rated correctly. For example I went to take my kids to see "Monster House" which in fairness does sound a bit scary but it was rated a PG and seemed harmless. My kids were terrified and had nightmares that evening! The rules definitely have relaxed since I was a teenager and unfortunately I think it has a lot to do with the behaviour of kids these days. The horror films today are mostly cert 15, would have been an 18 in my time and so on. I'm not a prude but I like music and when I have the music channel on TV, 99% of the videos are sexually provocative with semi naked women and there's no way I'd put it on around my kids. Is it really necessary? I think the BBFC are too relaxed with their rating system and they should be a lot more regulated. Another problem is games which is another subject but again there are many many violent ones out there and I can't see how this is doing our children's minds any good?

I thought 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy should have been a 12 before they thought about 12As and so should have the 4th 'Harry Potter' film.

In the States, in 1980, 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' reinvented the classification of films under 15 that were meant for children but might have been too scary for the classification of PG or U. So instead of putting the Steven Spielburg classic as a PG and having parents complain the American Film Board came up with PG13 to bridge the age gap in films.

There is another BBFC rating, R18, for films with sexually explicit content so yeah... I mean the Lion King really should have been an R18 and I think Euroboys Unzipped 4 would be better suited as a PG. This country has got it all wrong!

I think none of the disney movies should be for kids.. in every single movie there is a perverted thing

in the original movies!!

little mermaid- guy has b o n e r when she walks out of water for first time

lion king- the smoke , that rafiki smells and realizes simba is alive, spells out sex

alladdin- on the cover of the movie, a dick is on the box,

wizard of oz- someone hung themselves in the background of the apple tree scene

so many more.. those perverts

I think 'Step Up' has far too much violence, language & sex references to be a PG. Even if it is a good film.
