I live in the Heights. I have been here to 2 months. I have previously lived in Montrose for 12 years. You need to remember that the Heights was Houston's first suburb. And it still maintains a very residential feel. Unlike Montrose where you have restaurants next to galleries, next to bars, next to houses, the Heights has houses next to houses, next to houses. Which is good if you are a homebody but, if you prefer to get out you have a harder time finding things near by.

My sister has lived in the heights for about 20 years...it's really nice,but some parts are dry(no alcohol sales)

i lived in the heights for about a year and the crime was horrible! my truck got broken into at lease three times, and my roomates truck got stolen TWICE!!!!! ((off of Sabine)) needless to say i live in the galleria area now!
