Look, you don't want to celebrate Valentines Day then don't and let the people who enjoy it celebrate it. If you feel pressured into it then thats your and your significant others problem not anyone else's.

No it shouldn't be banned. Just because its valentines day and you have a partner, wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend etc. This doesn't mean that you have to spend an arm and a leg on the other person. Remember valentine's day is all about love and I think that people forget this. Therefore just spending the day or evening together watching a film or going out somewhere it doesn't have to be expensive. but somewhere down the line many of us have forgot this and the day have become way too commercialised and expensive, shops and restaurants just cash in on it

It should now be banned at all.
It's a day on which lovers or wannabee lovers can show one and another in a relative safe way what they feel about eachother.
What can ever be the problem with that?
It seems like you have had a (very) terrible experience with love.
Maybe you don't want to celebrate Valentine's day anymore, but atleast let other people around you celebrate it if they want to.

Valentine is such a lame business propaganda so people can spend hundreds of dollars buying useless stuff just to to tell their sweatheart that they love them. People who fall for that crap deserve to lose their money. First of all, if you really love your special someone, you should tell them all the time, not on a designated day. Honestly one of the worst days in the year. It should definitely be banned.
And for those of you who think i'm single and feel this way.. i'm not.

I agree. I think it's kind of creepy watching people run around with big red or pink stuffed animals, flowers and candies just because someone, somewhere in time said that we should to express our love. I just can't get with that program. And I have always found it hard accepting anything on "that" day.

Well. To me, it's a great opportunity to make a bank buying love crap online. I'm a newbie online marketer, and i see it as a shining shot.

I think people put to much emphasis on Valentine's Day. If you love/care about someone, do you really need a special day to tell them so. And if you are in a relationship, do you need a special day to validate it?? I think you should say ''I love you'' as often as you think it/mean it, and demonstrate as often as possible. I rather have lovely words and actions every day than a big bunch of roses one day of the year.

Dont really care, I can take or leave valentines day as it only really appeals to the soppy ones who want to make a big deal about it and the retailers who want to make a lot of money out of it.

Valentine's Day is another Hallmark strategy to buy cards. If you love someone dearly, every day should be Valentine's Day
