Most children provoke dog to attack ...so where dose the real blame lie......People blame the dog because they can not defend them selfs

Why does this happen? Because parents have forgotten their responsibilities to teach children basic principles of respect, and because parents neglect to take the time to properly supervise interactions between their children and other pets. A shame (although, in my mind's eye, that parents should ensure that their children aren't unsupervised around animals!).
It made me sick to know that the 4 pit bulls that killed a one year old the other day.......... Heads were chopped of and sent to some lab (dont tell me they had rabies thats very unlikely) that is savage. And to say humans are civilized

It only makes sense to protect innocent Dogs from agressive children and carless selfish parents.. not the other way around

People think that Murdering a dog is the answer .....How is that going to prevent attacks...

Am i wrong?

i totally agree with you 100% i have a german shephard who was trained as`a pup to make sure she wouldnt be violent, but some scummy people treat their animals bad or think its funny to make them aggressive. also people shouldnt let their kids un supervised around animals. putting a dog down because it has bitten some1 well i just dont see the point that dog should be taken off its owner and trained not killed. people hit people do they get put down no they dont people kill people and they get let off their jail term in a few years, it makes me so mad that dogs dont get treated like humans in situations like these. im glad some1 else thinks the same way as i do. there are too many scummy people getting hold of dogs these days

When one chooses to be a pet owner, they need to be responsible for their pets. And unfortunately, many pet owners are making these dogs aggressive. Children especially young children should not be left alone with any dog, they are dogs for goodness sakes animals. And young children do not have the maturity or know how to treat a animal, thus the animal may attack out of fear and then suffer the consequences for the lack of parenting skills and responsibility. Now there is a child dead
and the four dogs have been destroyed. The owner should also pay the cost with his life, for his lack of common sense and responsibility. Just my opinion. Pit bulls have been given a very bad reputation because of what the owners have made them into. I am a animal lover, however a responsible pet owner. And any dog when provoked will attack. Just my opinion, God bless

i have a full blooded pit. he is huge. he is bigger then most pits. he's about 3 years old. we have tried breeding him with another pit smaller then him. she attacked him. he didn't even try fighting back. we also have a rot mix, female, same age. she attacks him and still doesn't fight back.
i truly believe its the owner who influences their pet. if u play rough with them and dont teach them gentle from the get go, he wouldn't know the difference. if u just buy a dog to breed and only for that, he will never know what love is.
i can never just get rid of loco, i would have to know the person really well... he is like one of the kids to me... he isn't evil or a fighter, he has been raised around lap dogs and so has the rot. they both think they are lap pups.
oh ya, as far as the rot mix, she used to be a loving dog towards others b4 we moved we lived next to a kid that would always provoke while she was in her kennel. teased her, kicked her cage, and threw stuff at her. i worry more about her attacking someone before the pit. she has chased people meanwhile the pit sat there looking like a dee dee.
but we have 6 kids and netiher have bit or threatened none of them. i truly agree with u.
its irresponsible breeders and dog owners that are the reason why people are maken a big deal. i can understand with those who have been attacked but not all dogs are like that and its not their fault. its the owners.

Needing to kill the dog wasn't the best option to solve the problem. No matter who's to blame of who provoked who, the parents need to be wary of things at all times when doing something with their children. The dog however won't bite anybody unless it's threaten or the person has fear of the animal. You're not wrong in your opinions to say that, because dogs are sometimes the victims in these cases.

I often hear people say how their small child pokes the family dog in the eye, tugs its ears, and swing on it's tail, etc, and the dog just lets it. I would never allow a child to do that, not because the dog may turn on it, or it may come a cropper with the neighbour's dog or one in the park, but it is cruel to the dog.

Children should never approach a strange dog, and should be taught how to handle animals properly. As well, a dog should never be alone with small children.

I agree, the blame is on a dogs owner and the parents. No kid should be left unsupervised with dogs. But then again the dog should be trained as well as kids. It's a shame and a complete waste of kid's and dog's lives just because of ignorance.

Dogs should be kept in fenced yards when they are not inside. It is the owner's responsibility to see that aggressive dogs do not run loose. Yes, parents should teach their children to respect all animals, but it doesn't make it okay for a dog to attack and kill a child if that child has not been taught. Euthanizing a dog who has killed a child does prevent another attack by that dog. As a dog owner, I am completely responsible for making sure my dog is not allowed to roam.

Yeah - that one year old probably went out with a knife and stabbed at least one of the dogs to death before the others defended themselves by tearing the evil kid to pieces.
Those dogs should have been given medals and allowed to roam free to kill off any other kids they find.

Although the modern pit-bull is genrally a very loyal and decent dog this breed was originally created to kill animals in combat and as such are capable of going berserk. When I was at school I had a friend who kept them and he never had any problems so it shows these dogs are usually very placid.

OMG did they do that to dogs in this country?! (UK). I'm fed up with dogs getting the blame too. Some people buy pit bulls and other similar breeds to look "cool", have them around children (who a lot of the time may pester the poor thing) and wonder why these tragedies happen. I know there are many that would be pefectly okay around kids but there's always a chance. It's just in their instincts. It's irresponsible and these idiots should be ashamed of themselves. I'm not anti-children as I have two but I'm anti-irresponsible parents! My children love dogs but if they want to stroke a dog in the street they ask me first then I ask the owner who will usually say yes if they are used to children. It's just common sense. This country is full of simpletons who think they will look "hard" if they own a pitbull or suchlike. Pathetic.

the mummy don't have inspired the baby to stroke a canines in the previous checking with the owner that the canines replaced into friendly. in spite of the undeniable fact that, it remains the owner's duty to ascertain the canines is decrease than administration. If the canines is vicious it is going to no longer be taken to a public place like a user-friendly the place there'll be toddlers around. this would be a count for the police.
