Unless the retailer is in a farmer's market, barterring is generally not an option. You just emphatically tell them "we don't barter...it's priced as marked." They have to take it or leave it....and if they try to make a stink and can't take no for an answer and become a nuissance, you can always call security or the police.
Just make sure you're respectful with them the whole time and don't let them get you to react, no matter how much it hurts.
But they're in no position to try and barter in most establishments.

I'm not a Jew - never have been and I have bartered many times for lower prices. Bartering down is something that is done in many cultures.

This is how you deal with ANYONE that asks for a cheaper price. First, you explain to them that it's the price that the store has set and you can't offer a discount. Now if your store has a charge card they usually offer a instant savings when they open one. Offer them that. If they give you a hard time, have them speak with your supervisor. No job is worth compromising to give someone a discount.

Bartering is just in some people's blood. It's not considered rude or unkind just to say "thats my price". These people are brasin enough to ask, be just as tough to tell them. They won't be offended if you say it in a nice way. Hope this helps....

What a racist attitude you have. Do you also expect all italians to have mafia ties? Do you also expect all britains to have bad teeth? I'm sure you are a 100% unadulturated WASP. Why don't you get a life and post your hatred somewhere else. Why don't you try one of those neo-nazi sites... sounds like you might have friends there.

Why are you stereo typing? There are lots of people who like to haggle a price down, that doesn't mean they are Jews!
