If the sign in front of the 4 is a single negative sign then the answer is x>4, because you change the sign when you divide by a negative number in an inequality. If the inequality is actually -(-4)<-16, then your answer is right.

Are those both single minus signs? When you multiple (or divide) and inequality by a negative number it switches the direction of the inequatlity.

If they are both single minus signs then you answer is wrong. You want the left side to become more and more negative as x becomes larger.

-4x<-16
rewrite as equals
-4x=-16 (divide both sides by -4)
x=4
Then since you divided by a negative number you reverse the greater than/less than sign so...
x>4
