hey, I'll take any and all compliments.
they give me warm fuzzies.
wait....
what preparation?
do you mean that you went to a lot of trouble to look really hot and all your dude says is "you look nice"?
yeah, that might be a bit of a let down. I've been disappointed by reactions to what I was wearing (when I had on something totally new and hot) and my bf didn't even notice.... don't feel bad. guys are just kinda clueless that way.

OMG!!!! I recently got so pissed at my boyfriend for that exact comment!!!! This is a crazy coincidence. I went to Vegas with my bf and literally spen 2 hours on my hair and and makeup before we went to the Top of the World restaurant. I'm always told I look like Beyonce' so that means I'm pretty hot-- especially when I'm dressed up in a black $200 cocktail dress, with the sexy smoky eyes and sexy curls in my hair. When we were leaving the room, he looked me up and down and said... "You look nice." WHAT!!!!!!!! I look nice??? Just nice???? 3 days earlier he said I looked "nice" in a Bebe sweater and jeans. Damn!!!!! When we went out, every other man was gushing over me but to him I just looked "nice." To answer the question, sometimes "nice" is ok, but other times it just isn't good enough.

I would take the compliment for what it is. A compliment. Just because someone might not gush doesn't make it any less praise.
Of course, I also don't tend to go to 'all that work' for anyone but myself anyway, so it really doesn't bother me if I don't receive any compliments at all....but that's rarely the case.

I would take it for a compliment.
It takes a lot for a person to size up and pass it on that they think you look good - when it is easier to just think it and go on.
What is really stupid of a woman is to say,
"How do I look?" That is bad manners - even between married people. What's she going to do if he says, "You do not look good."
Not speak to him for several days - weeks? Is she 'fishing' for a compliment? How weak
minded. He knows he better lie!
If she is that unsure of her ability to put
herself together, and if she requires re-enforcement to make her feel good about herself - she deserves a laugh!
Not even a "you look nice."

Good. Actually another person does not know the time and effort put into looking more than nice. Just listen to how they say it is how you should perceive it.

I'd feel just fine!
Would you rather have the same person look at you with one eyebrow arched higher than the other and grunt out "what in the world happened to you?" LOL

Flattered. Don't expect everyone to gush over you just because you spent a lot of time getting ready...if they tell you that you look nice, they obviously noticed and you should smile and say "thank you" with grace.

Personally I wouldn't think anything of it. I don't care what anyone thinks about what I wear. Mainly because I don't try to keep up with the Jone's like everyone seems to try to do these days.
