That in itself would be somewhat sad.Personally I do this more for my own intellectual stimulation than my ego.I certainly couldn't care less about points.I have alot more to live for than that. It's sad but true that many people just give these short one or two word answers that really don't address the entire scope of the question.
Really,it's what to be expected in this world of intellectually bankrupt individuals. Some people actually post what level they're on as questions in a feeble attempt to brag.I'm sure that there must be more in peoples lives than Yahoo! Answers. It's fun and nice to help people from time to time, but I have to admit most of the time I'm just keeping my mind in shape. That's one reason I've selected so many thought provoking questions in the past, though I do primarily answer in Diet and Fitness or Music as I have an intimate knowledge of the two subjects.
The biggest problem with gathering information on this site is many answers are completely wrong. Some people just choose an answer as best because it fits into what they believe or have been told. That's sad because someone may ask the same question,in doing so Yahoo! shows them similar questions, some of which have been resolved with gross misinformation either by a user or some chump voting for their own wrong answer.

Some things do get solved here, if you do really want to use here as a base for knowledge. I would have loved this source if i was still at school.
Try ask a question that you really need an answer to. You may also hold the information someone else needs.
It's not sad to be helpful, its human nature and this may be just another way of doing just that.

No. I feel like I am doing more than just answering questions to achieve points to reach the next level. I answer questions because I get a sense of selfworth (no matter how silly it may sound to others). I am helping someone else get the answer that they want/need. And that is a good feeling.

No, not at all. It's a win-win situation. You help out a person that is curious or needs an answer to something and you in turn, earn points. I don't see how that is sad. It's just a game and sometimes you actually do learn something.

Some people may say so..... depends on your true reasons.
Personally, I aim for best answers, although I don't usually get them. I also enjoy doing this while the boyfriend is out and there's nothing much else to do. It gives me a sense of personal satisfaction - yeah OK. I am sad!

No just having a bit of relaxing fun. I was addicted for about 2/3 days then just came on to browse. When I'm ready to move on to other things I will. No race..

We? Do you have a mouse in your pocket or something? I share and receive. The world needs us to share with each other rather than view the mass media to see what the profiteers want us to believe others think and feel. Ya know.
