just in case it ever happens (cuz fortunatly it hasnt yet). like am i able to do anyhting about it?

My son dove in the pool with his ipod nano and it died a slow, excrutiatingly painful death only seconds before my son pictured my hands around his throat.

Seriously, it's gonna die if it falls in water, so be careful with it.

It really depends on whether the ipod is on or off. If it is on, dry it and turn if off immediately. (just in case water penetrated the case) Leave the ipod off for the next several days. If ipod is off, just let it dry for several days and it should be fine.

It would short circuit, and I think that's terminal.
