How can I save time and transfer saved files from my email account to another file or another email account?

I want to close an email account but have many saved letters and various attachments which would be a great loss. Is there a "smart" approach (apart from the obvious) to save the many contents of about 6 file folders with possibly 200+ total file contents?

Your answers will be greatly appreciated.

You can save your letters on a CD, or on a USB flash drive. Also depends on what email program you are using, or if you haev AOL or something.

Use an application like Outlook or Outlook Express to access your email using what is called POP3 email, instead of using your browser to get them. This way, all the emails reside on your PC instead of the server.

Its not too late to do. Just figure out how to access both accounts via POP3 (Post Office Protocol ver3)
