Has anyone else noticed that in the wake of the power shift in Washington that we haven't heard talk of lawsuits from the losers ? For the last 6 years it has become more & more routine to see a major democratic election loss followed immediately by the filing of a lawsuit challenging something in the process. The grace shown by the Repub's in losing has impressed me.
FYI - I am a conservative, not a republican. I vote on issues, not parties. I end up voting about 70% republican because they tend to promote conservative candidates but I will vote democrat if I like the candidates values.

To decider & denise - You are illustrating the difference in parties. Quit gloating. Look up democrat & vote fraud on google and you will find just as much dirt as you will on republicans.

Dems are cry babies if they don't get there way where Republicans accept that they made unpopular decisions and take full responsiblity. That is the major difference between the two: Dems want to blame everyone else for problems and republicans beleive in personal responsibility

I mentally split the two parties in their mindsets in the economy. The Democrats have a history of helping common workers and are responsible for many of the social programs that are still in place today. The Democrats in my opinion work on the lower economic ladder steps.
The Republicans are more big business. They believe in things such as the trickle down effect. They tend to dislike government involvement with the people and as this party currently has demonstrated plays into highly religious and controversial issues such as Roe v.s. Wade and Gay Marriage Bans.
The individual canidates are not bad but the Republican party has become corrupt and ineffective due to an imbalance of power. There was no check and balance in the last few years and i fear the country has suffered and will suffer due to mismanagement of the de facto ruling party.

Very much in your camp.... Cain.
Also a Conservative very disappointed in Republican caving in to liberal influence while merely giving occasional singing to the choir in their intra-party missives.
I know I and many other Conservatives did not support the party financially as much as in the past, as they had buckled under in handling:
1) the border and illegal immigration problems
2) staying confirmed in funding Social Security by investing in the private sector
3) decreased spending as promised
4) make a philosophical argument for energy independence, as we have refused to drill our own oil resources or built modernized refineries and nuclear plants for MORE THAN 30 YEARS... other nations are passing us in this technology
As to the danger of liberal-democrat control..... none of these problems are likely to do anything but worsen. There shall be higher taxes, even greater uncontrolled spending and more restrictions on the private sector.
And then there is the greatest problem of our time.... Islamic terrorism. It will not go away, especially under the purvue of people like Pelosi and Reid, who shall do little but be content to blame the next disaster on those who preceded them.
There is the bright spot of the Senate still basically being in gridlock mode which limits some of the democrat stranglehold over private sector economic freedom.

Republicans believe you can run your life better then the government can.The Democrates believe only they know what is best for you. The Republicans believe it is your money & you should keep as much of it for yourself to spend as possible. The Democrates believe just because you work hard & someone else does not then you have a duty to take care of them. The Democrates believe you can buyoff our enemies & hope the bribe will keep them from killing us or making nuke bombs like N. Korea. The Republicans do not believe in making bargains with terriost. They believe in takiing the war to them befor they can attack us. That is the differance between parties. I am a Independent so I vote for the best from both sides.

I'm a moderate conservative and I too vote issues, not candidates. But, I wouldn't go patting the Republicans on the shoulder either. In the past 6 years, they, and particularly GWB, has screwed up this country. It'll take decades to recover from what they have done. Graceful, maybe. But they should be.

What's going on in Virginia with the "i want a recount" is scarily reminiscent of Florida.... are they trying to win *cough steal cough* another election like they did in Florida? Sore losers.... no.... just corrupt power hungry politicians who would do anything to win an election... this includes slandering their opponents, lying to the public... and recounting votes.

no offense but this isn't history we are talking -- it was yesterday. virginia is still kneee deep mostly due to a neocon that thinks its fine calling asians "macacas" and his supporters think its fine to call people and tell them they will be arrested if they show up to vote.
all pelosi had to do was hold a press confrence and rumsfeld's bags are packed.
republicans aren't gracious losers -- they don't have a leg to stand on.
