Where do you work and what do you do? That determines if an outfit is ok for work. Normally a halter style jean vest even over a frilly blouse and Khakis would be ok for casual but not business wear. Make sure the blouse is not see through. Too much frill can also take away from people at work taking your seriously. A pair of Khaki pants is classic and a black blouse would be great.

I think this would work better with a white or cream colored shirt. i get the look you're going for & i think it's cute. You're running into problems mixing the black, khaki & denim all together. Or maybe instead of khakis you could use a pinstripe pant...that would be cute. Dont do a denim vest with jeans..Yuck!

that outfit sounds a mess...no frilly blouse!!! you should do a fitted shirt (button down) under the vest (could be white or black but white is better) with the vest and khaki pants.....the khaki are fine its a neutral color (like black and white) so it goes......
I did an outfit like that with white shirt and jeans vest and khaki knickers but I had jeans boots to balance it out....it was really HOT!!!

The jean vest seems a little tacky for work, but I suppose it really depends on the job.

Personally I do not think that the khaki pants go with the outfit, or maybe if you got rid of the denim.... but both of them together doesn't go well.

Technically, no, but give it a try, anyway. I can't see the exact style so I can't tell you the correct answer. Ask a friend if it really bothers you.
