Finishing college would be the best thing to do, but college is not for everyone. In that case what you need is a high paying job where you don't need a college education. In your area (southeast USA) construction and trade specialties are the best. Electrician, plumber, HVAC technician, Fire Alarm technician, Sprinkler fitter. As with all things you will start out low and have to work up. In 5 years or so you should have a company truck and $50,000.00/year income.

I would start by obtaining a catalog from a college and read through the descriptions of classes and degrees. You may find that there are some degrees available in areas that you were not aware of.
Call a college or career center in your area and ask if you can get one free career counseling session. Also, look online for a Meyers Briggs (or something like that) test. It is a test to give insight on what career you may be successful at or enjoy. Good luck!

First of all you need to decide what does excite you. Do you enjoy working with people; do you like solving problems; do you like fixing things........
I have always said that education is better than no education because you will always learn something in a class that will help you later on in life. It might be learning that you detest the course and that is not your life's calling.
Sometimes people just need to shake up their lives and get out of the rut that they find themselves. Try moving to a new location; to a new city or new state. Give yourself a fresh start.
When I was in my 20's I was in a similar position and I joined the Air Force. I planned on seeing the world for four years and getting out to go back to school. Turns out that I enjoyed it and stayed until I retired. Now I use that experience I gained in the Air Force and do very well for myself and my family.
That may not work for everyone, but it did for me. The thing to realize is that you are only 26. You are too young to be stuck in a dead end job that you hate. There is too much out there to allow yourself to become miserable and too scared to believe in yourself and take a chance. Good Luck!

Being as how you are already in retail, may I recommend a home business? This is something you are doing already, marketing, but would have a lot more spunk if you were doing it for yourself. As for bettering yourself, that comes with it. You are taught and mentored by those who are very successful, bright people, who are constantly learning ways to improve themselves. These people are more than willing to help you change your financial blueprint and see the world quite differently and with a very positive, forward attitude. I teach people how to find it within themselves to do what they never thought they could do and get paid very well for doing it. The main benefit is you are growing constantly and helping other people along the way.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me." You need direction in life? There it is. God made you, he loves you, and you need to recieve him into your life. He will direct you in the way you should go. How do you accept Him? Admit to Him that you have sin (wrong things that you have said, thought, or done in your life), believe that He is the son of God who came to take your sin away, ask for forgiveness, and promise to serve Him all your life. Going to church is a good idea- it will allow you to get connected with other Christians who can help you find your direction. First and foremost ask God what you should do, and He'll tell you. This may or may not involve going back to school, which is usually what is required if you want a good career.
