Pregnancy uses up a lot of fluids for your blood and amniotic fluid, sometimes not leaving much for keeping your skin and especially your lips from drying out. I have been having the same problem with my lips and with the backs of my hands.
I have found it a great help to use Olay Quench body lotion and hand lotion. I use the hand lotion on my lips and backs of my hands and it doesn't wash off, even when I wash my hands or lick my lips. When I put the lotion on my lips, I put lip balm over it as an extra protective barrier.
I hope this helps!

Ya know, I am the same way. I never put two and two together with being pregnant since it didn't happen with my first. Yeah, I have gone through like 2 tubes of chapstick in the past week and a half. I drink about 10 glasses of water a day though, so I think I have plenty of fluid. Don't know why, but I am in the same boat! I am 13 weeks along now. Good Luck!

I am 17wks 1 day and i have the very same problem. My lips were never like this until about 7/8wks into my pregnancy. I have found this great conditioning lip balm which works wonders but yes, i thought it an odd symptom of pregnancy too!!!

Yes, I have the same problem! usually carmex works great for me, but not even that will work for me right now! I go through chapstick like crazy!! Hopefully my lips will go back to normal after the baby is born!
Good luck and congrats on the pregnancy! :)

I had to put carmex on my lips every night when I went to bed. I helped so I didn't have to continually apply something during the day.

You might not be drinking enough. Try getting more fluids and using lip balm. Good luck.
