Decriminalized yes. Legalized no. I agree with most of your arguments and have three sons all over age of 21 who I have told a number of times that I would prefer that they smoke dope in place of drinking any day of the week.

I believe it should be taxed. As long as there were certain restrictions (i.e. airline pilots can't use) towards the leinency of the law, it may provide a great source of income for the government. I'd rather decriminalize it completly and have a $500 fine for anyone caught with it as well as a PERMENANT 1% garnishing of their wages. All money goes straight towards public schooling....and we'd be making money for the youth of society as opposed to paying for someone to be in jail for 5+ years.

ALL DRUGS SHOULD BE DECRIMINALIZED. They are cheaper, easier to get, and stronger than they were when the "drug wars" were started 30 years ago. Not only would this get drugs out of the hands of children, but all drug related crime would be put to a stop overnight! The cartels would not have a place to be or a reason and would simply vanish. The drug wars are the perfect example of "failed policy"

There are a lot of money in marijuana and by decriminalizing it the government can impose as heavy a tax on it as cigarettes, tobaccos, and alcohol.

I do think it should be decriminalized, but it shouldn't have anything to do with living in a 'free country'...if you take that stand, we'd be back in the days of anarchy and chaos...

Free doesn't mean do anything you want any time you want...

Yes, it definitely should be. It's an herb that mellows people out, eases pain, and grows naturally. Not exactly grounds for prison!

Yes, if it is legal then you can regulate it better.

It would have to be like alcohol, though. You wouldn't be able to drive, operate machinery, etc. with any THC in your system.

Yes. We have more important things to worry about than an herb!
