With a real illness....I have never been that sick and was wondering what it would be like. So long as the sickness dont stop you eating, i thought it would be cool, you know?
Just laying down - on painkillers so no pain - sipping some nice cold drink, having chicken soup bought to you, all meals made and served, chilling and watching tv / listening to the radio. Having the papers delivered to you. I reckon it would be nice if your at home - but not if your in a hospital.
what do you think? Can you Tell me about your cosy experience of being laid up in bed like this?

Hate to burst your bubble but it's miserable! I end up with pneumonia every winter and last year I don't even remember 4 out of the 10 days I was stuck in bed. You get bored, sore from laying around and stiff from not using your muscles. I was so weak it took all I had just to get out of bed to go to the bathroom.

My experience was somewhat different - cancer, chemo and radiotherapy, vomiting for a week, not being able to eat, terrific pains in my lower tummy and blisters in my mouth to name a few side effects... Oh and I couldn't stay in bed, even though at times I was too weak to get off the floor where I had fallen, because I had three small children and a newborn baby to look after - with NO help at all.
What I am saying is that with a 'real' illness you don't have a good time being waited on hand and foot - it was more like living hell for six months.
Be grateful that you have never been that sick I wouldn't wish it on anyone - and I know that there are many, many more people like me out there who have gone through similar things or are suffering right now.
I'm not telling you off but you wanted to know what it was like.

Yes I had kidney stones removed when I was 16. It sucked. You will soon be well. Take care.
