They use cayenne extract in order to draw blood to the capillaries. That's why it stings.

The same reason why if you bang your finger, it will swell up. Lip plumpers irritate the flesh in your lips so they will swell up. If you get a nice lip colour and apply it properly, you can make your lips look a bit bigger, without the pain.

Lip- Plumper hurt so much because they have a numbing effect and then your lips expand.

They irritate your lips and give them a swollen effect. They hurt in my opinion and I think they are the worst makeup invention ever.
