Is those annoying Boxing Day commercials the day after Christmas that start off by saying..."Get what you REALLY wanted!" Is this not an example of greed and disappreciation?

Your thoughts please!

Seems like a good example of greed to me and clearly a sign of what the media and advertizing is all about. turn off the TV after this Christmas and enjoy the next few weeks media free :-)

As I suspect you know.......Christmas is not about what your getting; its about what your giving.........and the giving does not have to be materail and from a store........the best gift is from the heart.

My pet peeve regarding Christmas is when the arranging of it all takes over from enjoying all the 30 days before it.
Am making a note to myself not to do this this year!

We don't have boxing day, but I think I get your drift and I agree, totally!

Ok and to make myself look like a really stupid Yank. I used to think that boxing day meant that it was the day everyone "boxed" up all the Christmas decorations. I could never figure out why that constituted a holiday. :)

Sounds like you might be fresh out of high school or college. You have been brain washed by liberal socialists and communists for so long that you forgot or don,t realize that you live in a capitalist country. Here....let me help you....we sell things at a price for profit so we can pay people their wages. In turn they buy things. Then we advertise our products to everyone so they can buy more if they wish. You have a computer....are you greedy because you can afford one and someone else can not. If so give yours to someone else and leave this site for good.

my biggest pet peeve is kids the age of 19 and up saying what a crappy gift they got...
Ya know christmas isnt about the gifts...
Its about giving and recieveing
Christmas is for the kids...
Its for the adults getting together with the family and reminicing and passin down traditions that they did when they were younger so that their children once they are older can enjoy the same traditions and hopefully pass them down as well....
Also it is the rememberence of our lord and savior and what he has done for us...

Yeah, it sure is! I never thought about it that way....My peeve is that people forget the real meaning of christmas, and think its just all about gifts

Agreed! I dislike being asked for a "list", too. I'd rather someone give me a gift they thought about, not picked from a list of what I "want". Likewise, I don't ask others for lists. I like to think for myself.

Mine is the endless Christmas ads before Thanksgiving. It's more important to give thanks for what you have before saying gimme.
